My very first ever shared crochet pattern here on the blog was a really basic and easy chunky infinity scarf. (You can check out that free pattern here). Last week, I whipped up a basic, chunky beanie to go with it! I had one skein left of the same kind of yarn I used for the infinity – enough for a beanie!
I attached a faux fur pom pom on top of mine because I’ve been waiting to use them for the first time! Don’t mind my pom pom blowing in the wind – it was a windy day!
There are many tutorials out there to make your own faux pom poms, but I bought this one off Etsy a little while ago and needed to use it.

Pattern notes:
BPDC – back post double crochet
FPDC – front post double crochet
-Yarn used for that hat in the picture is Charisma Heather in Light Gray
Round 11: repeat Round 5
Round 12: Chain 2, *BPDC, FPDC, repeat from * around, join to first DC
Optional: attach pom pom or other embellishment
