About the Stitch
The parallels stitch is comprised of chains and single crochets, which makes this a very easy stitch to accomplish.
The chains gives a very breathable fabric and almost a closed mesh type of material. This stitch would be great for warm weather tops or market bags.

Abbreviations (US terms):
Ch = chain, sc = single crochet, sk = skip, st = stitch, sp = space
Row 1: Ch multiple of 4 + 2, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first st, *ch 4, sk next 3 st, sc in next st, repeat from * across, turn

Work final row once height of pattern is achieved:
Ch 1, sc in first st, *3sc in ch 4 sp, sc in sc from previous row, repeat from * across
This would be a great pattern/square for beginners and experienced crocheters alike to practice keeping even, consistent tension on their chains!! I know I could definitely improve in that area, despite more than 30 years of crocheting!!
