About the Stitch
The iris crochet stitch is quick and easy. It uses double crochets and chains to create its fan like texture.
It has many holes and gaps between the stitches, which makes it great for market bags and summer tops.

Abbreviations (US terms):
Ch = chain, dc = double crochet, sk = skip, st = stitch, sp = space
Notes:
Stitches in (parenthesis) are worked into the same stitch.
Row 1: Ch multiple of 4 + 3, (2dc, ch 1, 2dc) in 5th ch from hook, *sk next 3 ch, (2dc, ch 1, 2dc) in next ch, repeat from * across until last 2 st, sk next ch, dc in last ch, turn
Row 2: Ch 3, sk next 3 st, *(2dc, ch 1, 2dc) in each ch 1 sp from previous row across until last 2 st, dc in beginning ch of previous row, turn
Repeat Row 2
