About the Stitch
This stitch is similar to the typical “corner to corner” stitch that we see except we are working in rows and NOT in the corner to corner fashion.
I really enjoy crocheting this stitch because we are working in chain spaces which makes the stitch go by quickly.

Cross Hatch Shells Stitch Crochet Written Tutorial
Notes
Beginning chain multiple: 6 + 2
Abbreviations (US terms)
Ch = chain, dc = double crochet, sk = skip, st = stitch, sl st = slip stitch
Pattern
Row 1: Ch multiple of 6 + 2, 4dc in 4th ch from hook, sk next 3 ch, *sl st in next st, ch 3, 4dc in same st as sl st, sk 3 ch, repeat from * across, sl st in last ch, turn
Row 2: Ch 5, 4dc in 4th ch from hook, *sl st into sp between last dc and ch 3 of next shell, ch 3, 4dc in same sp, repeat from * across, sl st in top of last st of the last shell in the row, turn
Repeat Row 2 until desired height is achieved.
