About the Stitch
This crochet stitch provides a closed material with no gaps. It is mostly made with single crochets but has a pretty twisted texture made with treble crochets.
A closed fabric like this would be great for warm blankets, dishcloths/washcloths, and hot pads.

Notes
Beginning chain multiple: 4
Beginning chain of each row does not count as a stitch.
Front Post Treble: treble crochet around the body of the stitch by inserting your hook behind the body of the stitch so the stitch is in front of your hook
Abbreviations (US terms)
Ch = chain, sc = single crochet, tr = treble crochet, fptr= front post treble, st = stitch
Pattern
Row 1: Ch multiple of 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn
Row 2-3: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn
Row 4: Ch 1, *sc in next 3 st, tr in next st, repeat from * across, sc in last 3 st, turn
Row 5-7: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn
Row 8: Ch 1, sc in next 3 st, fptr around tr 3 rows below, repeat from * across, sc in last 3 st, turn
Repeat Row 5-8 until desired height is achieved.
