How to Join as You Go with Solid Granny Squares

This method takes a bit of getting used to, but it gives you such a nice join without having to sew individual squares together!

I used this joining technique on my Dinosaur Themed Granny Square Blanket and I’m impressed at how quickly it came together. I will definitely use this joining technique again in the future.

The video tutorial below will show you step by step how to use the join as you go method with solid granny squares.

I also have a video tutorial on how to join as you go with traditional granny squares. You can find that here.

And for those unable to view videos, or work from videos even if they could view them? Is there a written version anywhere?

Unfortunately, I don’t have a tutorial that doesn’t involve a video. It’s quite difficult to explain in just writing. However, I can put on my ‘to-do’ to create a step by step photo tutorial!

Maria…..not really a reply but I have crocheted your monkey afghan, ocean/beach afghan, and your unicorn/butterfly afghan. Right now I am looking for a baseball, football, soccer, basketball afghan pattern…. any ideas?
