Small dog? Big dog? Short dog? Long dog? I got you covered! This video tutorial that I have for you will show you all the steps needed to make a custom fit cable sweater for your dog!
I have the written instructions for a basic dog sweater without the cable for a more beginner-friendly approach if that is more your style. You can check out the step by step dog sweater tutorial here.

For this custom-fit dog sweater, you can technically use any yarn you would like. I opted for a worsted weight yarn paired with an I/5.50mm hook. Whichever yarn and hook combo you use, make sure the fabric is stretchy and not too tight/rigid so it can comfortably be put on to your pet.
This pullover style cable sweater is perfect for a pup who doesn’t mind being dressed. Once the sweater is on, it is made so your dog will be able to use the bathroom outside without having to take off the sweater.

This crochet project is an intermediate level because of the cable detail. Knowledge of basic crochet stitches is also needed to finish this project. For a more basic and beginner-friendly project, check out my basic dog sweater tutorial here.
Grab your tape measure and your pup – you will need both to take some measurements to ensure a custom fit.
