How to Make Tassels
For this pillow project, I made tassels for the first time! It was much easier than I thought it would be using the Clover Tassel Maker.
There are very thorough instructions (pictures included) that came with the tassel maker, but I prefer learning in action so I went to YouTube to find a video tutorial. I watched a few different ones before I got started on my own.
The tassels on my pillow were made with the small tassel maker using Lion Brand Beautiful You yarn. It made pretty little tassels that didn’t look too “yarny”.
Crochet Pillow
I made the pillow part of this project using Lion Brand Comfy Cotton Blend yarn. It’s a very light and airy yarn that feels very soft to the touch. I knew it would be a good choice for a home decor item.
Using the lemon peel stitch along with a very neutral color yarn gives the pillow a nice texture look.
Simply crocheting two panels the size of the pillow insert and joining them together is all you need to do to make your own crochet pillow!

The beginning chain in the pattern below is for a 18” pillow insert.

Make two squares.
Join together by single crocheting the edges together. Stop when three sides are crocheted together. Insert pillow. Continue to crochet around until completely closed. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Tassels
Use Lion Brand Beautiful You yarn.
Using tassel maker, make tassels using instructions in package. I made 3cm tassels and wrapped the yarn around 12 times.
Attach tassels on each corner of the pillow and every 6 stitches around the pillow.
