Marshmallow Ornament Crochet Pattern
Materials:
Worsted yarn in white, black, and pink
3.75mm hook
Polyfil stuffing
Blush
Scissors and tapestry needle
Notes: Beginning chain of each row/round does not count as a stitch.
Abbreviations: (US terms)
Ch = chain, sc = single crochet, BLO = back loop only, dc = double crochet, st = stitch
Pattern
Use white.
Round 1: Magic ring, ch 1, 8sc in ring, join to first st (8)
Round 2: Ch 1, 2sc in each st around, join to first st (16)
Round 3: Ch 1, *sc, 2sc in next st, repeat from * around, join to first st (24)
Round 4: Ch 1, sc in BLO in each st around, join to first st (24)
Round 5-11: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join to first st (24)
Round 12: Ch 1, sc in BLO in each st around, join to first st (24)
Sew on face with tapestry needle and black yarn. Use blush to make two cheeks.
Stuff with polyfil
Round 13: Ch 1, sc2tog around, join to first st (12)
Round 14: Ch 1, sc2tog around, join to first st (6)
Fasten off and use tapestry needle to close up hole.
Hat
Use pink.
Hat Brim
Row 1: Ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn (3)
Row 2-20: Ch 1, sc in BLO in each st across, turn (3)
Slip stitch first and last row together. This completes the brim of the hat.
Turn work 90 degrees so you are working on the side of the single crochet rows.
Body of Hat
Row 1: Ch 2, dc in each side of the sc rows, join to first st (20)
Row 2-3: Ch 2, dc in each st around, join to first dc (20)
Fasten off and use tapestry needle to weave in and out of top stitches and pull tight to close up hole.
Make small pom pom and attach to top.
The hat will fit snug around the top of the marshmallow. Sew on for extra security.
