Lion Brand Mandala Yarn
For this blanket, I used the Lion Brand Mandala Bonus Bundle Yarn in the color “Genie”. It is 100% acrylic, category 3 yarn. I typically like to use a category 4/worsted weight yarn for blankets, but this was a great choice for a light blanket.
The bonus bundle size has a bit over 1,000 yards which makes it perfect for a one skein/cake baby blanket. I used a bit over one cake since I made this a custom size for my love seat in my office. I have almost an entire skein leftover.
The color transitions are beautiful and the cakes come in many different colors, it’s hard to choose! The color changes also help to keep the project interesting so you won’t get bored.
Closed Scallop Stitch
The stitch I used is very easy and works up rather quickly. The stitch is made up of double crochets and single crochets, so it is very beginner friendly! View the video below for the tutorial.
