About the Stitch
The tri squares crochet stitch creates a nice thick material with no gaps. With the use of front and back post stitches, it does create a bulkier stitch.
The end result would be great for blankets, coasters, hot pads, dishcloths, and anything you want a nice thick material for!

Tri Squares Stitch Crochet Written Tutorial
Notes
Beginning chain multiple: 6 + 5
Beginning chain of each row counts as a stitch.
Abbreviations (US terms)
Ch = chain, fpdc = front post double crochet, bpdc = back post double crochet, st = stitch
Pattern
Row 1: Ch multiple of 6 + 5, dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across, turn
Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as st), fpdc in next 2 st, *bpdc in next 3 st, fpdc in next 3 st, repeat from * across, turn
Repeat Row 2 until desired height is achieved.
