Crochet popcorn in a box is the perfect little applique for my Crochet Foodie Themed Blanket. Of course, you can attach this crochet popcorn to any of your projects! The written crochet pattern below includes a video tutorial for easy crocheting.
Crochet Popcorn Free Written Pattern
Materials
Worsted weight yarn in red, yellow, and white
4.00mm crochet hook
Tapestry needle and Scissors
Crochet Pattern Notes
Beginning chain does not count as a stitch.
Pattern
Popcorn Box
Start with red yarn.
Row 1: Ch 15, dc into 3rd ch from hook, dc in next 2 ch, hdc in remaining 10 ch, turn (13)
Change to white yarn.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in next 5 st, hdc in next 8 st, turn (13)
Row 3: Ch 1, hdc in next 8 st, sc in next 5 st, turn (13)
Change to red yarn.
Row 4: Ch 1, sc in next 5 st, hdc in next 8 st, turn (13)
Row 5: Ch 1, hdc in next 8 st, sc in next 5 st, turn (13)
Change to white yarn.
Row 6: Ch 1, sc in next 5 st, hdc in next 8 st, turn (13)
Row 7: Ch 1, hdc in next 8 st, sc in next 5 st, turn (13)
Change to red yarn.
Row 8: Ch 1, hdc in next 10 st, dc in last 3 st (13)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Popcorn Kernels
Use yellow yarn with 4.00mm crochet hook.
Round 1: Magic ring, ch 3, sl st into ring, ch 4, sl st into ring, ch 3, sl st into ring, ch 4, sl st into ring, fasten off.
Make 5 pieces of popcorn for each popcorn box.
