Caron Blossom Cake Yarn
I purchased this yarn at Michael’s and the color Yacht Club immediately caught my eye because of the neutral tones. It has a chainette construction and very soft to work with.
Quick details on the Caron Blossom Cakes
- Medium 4 weight
- 61% cotton, 39% acrylic
- 481yds/8 oz per cake
I really enjoyed using this yarn to make a blanket especially with how the coloring turned out. As I said it’s very soft to crochet with, but it also is a tad fuzzier than your normal acrylic yarn.
Half Double Crochets and Paired Half Double Crochets
For the stitches, I used half double crochets and a stitch called paired half double crochets which is what gives it all the texture.
Paired half double crochets are basically half double crochet two together but the placement of the stitches are in a way so there is no decreasing. I added a chart and video tutorial below as the placement can be tricky if you aren’t used to this type of stitch.
