Cross Hatch Shells Crochet Stitch
If you love the look of the C2C (corner to corner) stitch but want to work in rows – this is the stitch for you! This crochet stitch has the groups of double crochets worked into chain spaces but in rows instead of a corner to corner fashion.
I really enjoy this stitch because working in chain spaces allows me to really get into the flow and crochet a bit quicker than working into individual stitches.
The only con about this blanket is you do have to make a beginning chain which the corner to corner stitch eliminates. Is it worth it? In my opinion, yes! I love the way this blanket came out and the eye catching striped pattern.
Yarn Needed for the Crochet Blanket
I used Loops and Threads Impeccable yarn for this project and I really loved the colors and softness of this yarn. This yarn is found at Michael’s – in stores and online. They have a wide variety of colors, so feel free to make your own color combo for this project!
The Impeccable yarn is acrylic and worsted weight. Honestly, it’s my favorite yarn to work with because it’s practical for washing purposes and for me, worsted weight is just my favorite to work with.
If you are looking for other worsted weight options, I also recommend Paintbox Yarns Simply Aran and Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn! I really enjoy worsted weight yarns that have a bit more weight to them and these are perfect.
