The crochet Halloween dog bowl mat is a spin off of my regular dog mat pattern. I’ve used spooky colors and appliques to make it perfect for the Halloween season!

Yarn and Colors
I used one of my favorite sturdy cotton yarns for this pattern – Dishie Cotton. When you go download the pattern, you will see the full review of it on that post!
I used the colors Eggplant, Fox, Jalapeno, and Black. I had plenty left over after making two dog mats!
For the appliques, I used leftover acrylic yarn. For the skeleton, I used white and black. For Frankenstein, I used a lime green and black.
Halloween Themed Appliques
I previously made a granny square themed blanket that features 8 different Halloween themed appliques – so I used those for these crochet dog bowl mats!
You can find crochet patterns for the following appliques: Frankenstein, Skeleton, Witch, Candy Corn, Spider, Ghost, Black Cat, and Pumpkin. All of these patterns also come with video tutorials!
Striping Pattern
For the black and purple dog bowl mat, I crocheted 5 rows of purple and 5 rows and black and continued with that pattern.
For the multi-color dog mat, I crocheted 2 rows of orange, 1 row of black, 2 rows of green, 1 row of black, 2 rows of purple, 1 row of black, and continued that pattern.
Adjust Sizing
This is a very simply pattern, so you can easily customize the size. Mine is fairly small because I have 15-25 pound dogs.
Feel free to make the dog mat bigger if you need too! Simply add more to your beginning chain and add more rows.
