Crochet Amigurumi Plushies
Crochet plushies are so fun to make and when you’re done, you have a cute friend to keep or give away! I love making amigurumi with blanket or chenille yarn because it makes them extra squishy, soft, and cute.
Using bulky and super bulky yarns also makes it a quicker project vs using a smaller weight yarn. For a smaller version of this fox amigurumi, you can absolutely use a smaller yarn but you will also want to use a smaller crochet hook as well.
Materials
For this fox amigurumi, I used Baby Bee Adore-A-Ball yarn for a soft, plushie feel. You can also use blanket yarn or another yarn that has that chenille or plush finish. For this yarn, use caution, as you are not always easily able to undo your work. Pulling the yarn can make it break very easily. That is why I do not use a magic ring for any of this project. Instead, I did a chain two and then worked my beginning round of stitches into the chain.
For the crochet hook, I used a 5.5mm (I) hook. You can use an even smaller hook but I found the tighter the stitches, the more unforgiving the yarn was when I messed up and had to frog a few stitches. This hook size made small enough stitches that didn’t allow the polyfil to poke through.
Other materials you will need is stuffing or polyfil, 12mm safety eyes, a tapestry needle, scissors, and a stitch marker.

Pattern Overview
The amigurumi fox is made by crocheting the body and head all in one piece. Then you will crochet the ears, arms, and scarf separately.
The ears and arms are sewn onto the head and body. The scarf will simply be attached by pulling one end of the scarf through the stitches on the other end of the scarf.
There will be a color change for the head and arms. For a smooth finish, attach the next color yarn before you finish the single crochet in the previous color.
