Crochet Christmas Coasters Free Pattern

Crochet Christmas Coasters Free Pattern

Materials

I Love This Cotton! In Burnt Sienna, Sage, Gold, Black, and White

4.00 mm crochet hook

Tapestry needle

Scissors

Fabric glue/hot glue gun

Crochet Pattern Notes

You can use any 100% cotton, worsted weight yarn for this project.

Number in parentheses after each round is the number of stitches for that round.

Bobble stitch: *YO, insert hook into st, YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through two

loops, repeat from * 3 more times into the same stitch, YO, pull through all loops

on your hook

Dimensions: 4.5” in diameter

Abbreviations: (US terms)

Ch = chain, dc = double crochet, hdc = half double crochet, sc = single crochet,

sl st = slip stitch, st = stitch

Pattern

For Santa, start with red yarn. For Elf, start with green yarn.

Round 1: Magic ring, ch 1, 10hdc in ring, join to first st (10)

Round 2: Ch 1, 2hdc in each st around, join to first st (20)

Round 3: Ch 1, hdc in first st, 2hdc in next st, *hdc in next st, 2hdc in next st,

repeat from * around, join to first st (30)

Round 4: Ch 1, hdc in first 2 st, 2hdc in next st, *hdc in next 2 st, 2hdc in next st,

repeat from * around, join to first st (40)

Round 5: Ch 1, hdc in first 3 st, 2hdc in next st, *hdc in next 3 st, 2hdc in next st,

repeat from * around, join to first st (50)

Change to white yarn.

Round 6: Ch 2, bobble st in first st, sc in next st, *bobble st in next st, sc in next

st, repeat from * around, join to first st

Fasten off.

Belt

Use black yarn.

Row 1: Ch 3, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across, turn

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn

Repeat until you have a total of 14 rows.

Glue belt onto coaster. Use tapestry needle and gold yarn to embellish buckle.
