This Vampire plushie is part of a whole set of Halloween crochet patterns! I made a set of Halloween themed pillows years ago then also made a matching set of plushies to go with them.

This year, I made a Halloween blanket inspired by my pillows and added a vampire! Then of course, I had to add a vampire pillow and plushie. 🙂 Mix and match or make all of them! They are a great way to add some spooky, cute touches for Halloween and fall.

Materials

Bernat Baby Blanket in Baby Lilac

Bernat Blanket in Coal and White

36mm safety eyes

Polyfil

6.5mm crochet hook

Tapestry needle and Scissors

Pattern Notes

Beginning chain does not count as a stitch. Will be worked from the bottom up. Thoroughly stuff the Vampire with polyfil.

Use invisible decreases/sc2tog for a cleaner look.

Invisible sc2tog: work sc2tog as normal except only use front loops of stitches.

Dimensions: ~8” in height 

Abbreviations: (US terms) 

Ch = chain, sc = single crochet, sc2tog = single crochet two together, st = stitch

Pattern 

Start with purple yarn. 

Round 1: Magic ring, ch 1, 10sc, join to first st (10) 

Round 2: Ch 1, 2sc in each st around, join to first st (20) 

Round 3: Ch 1, sc in first st, 2sc in next st, *sc in next st, 2sc in next st, repeat from * around, join to first st (30) 

Round 4: Ch 1, *sc in next 2 st, 2sc in next st, repeat from * around, repeat from * around, join to first st (40) 

Round 5: Ch 1, *sc in next 3 st, 2sc in next st, repeat from * around, repeat from * around, join to first st (50) 

Round 6: Ch 1, *sc in next 4 st, 2sc in next st, repeat from * around, repeat from * around, join to first st (60) 

Round 7-22: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join to first st (60) 

Change to black yarn. 

Round 23: Ch 1, dc x 20 down into the last round, sc in the next 6 st, dc x 8 down into the last round, sc in the next 6 st, dc down into the last round in the remaining st, join to first st

Round 24: Ch 1, sc in each st around, join to first st 

Round 25: Ch 1, *sc in next 4 st, invisible sc2tog over next 2 st, repeat from * around, join to first st 

Attach safety eyes and use black and white yarn and tapestry needle to sew on eyebrows, mouth and teeth.

Safety eye placement: between rows 17&18.

Stuff with polyfil. 

Round 26: Ch 1, *sc in next 3 st, invisible sc2tog over next 2 st, repeat from * around, join to first st 

Round 27: Ch 1, *sc in next 2 st, invisible sc2tog over next 2 st, repeat from * around, join to first st 

Round 28: Ch 1, *sc in next st, invisible sc2tog over next 2 st, repeat from * around, join to first st 

Round 29: Ch 1, *invisible sc2tog over next 2 st, repeat from * around, join to first st Fasten off and leave tail for sewing up the hole. 

Finish stuffing with polyfil.

Use tapestry needle to sew up hole. 

Weave in ends.
