Crochet Gingerbread House Ornament Pattern
Materials
Worsted weight yarn in brown, white, pink, green, blue, and yellow
G/4.00mm hook
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Notes
Beginning chain does not count as a stitch.
Sc2tog is worked as follows: Insert hook into first stitch, pull up a loop, insert hook into second stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through all loops.
Abbreviations:(US terms)
Ch = chain, sc = single crochet, sc2tog = single crochet two together, dc = double crochet, sp = space, st = stitch
Pattern
Use brown.
Row 1: Ch 15, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across, turn (14)
Row 2-11: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (14)
Row 12: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in each st across until last 2 st, sc2tog over last 2 st, turn (12)
Row 13-16: Repeat Row 12, each row will be decreased by 2 st
Row 17: Ch 1, sc2tog across, turn (2)
Row 18: Ch 1, sc2tog (2)
Fasten off.
Make two houses.
Candy Gum Drops
Round 1: Magic ring, ch 1, 6sc in ring, join to first sc (6)
Fasten off and leave tail for sewing.
Make 4 candies total in green, blue, yellow, and pink or colors of your choice.
Assembly
Embellish one piece of the house with doors and windows with tapestry needle and white yarn. Use photo as a guide.
Sew on candies with yarn and tapestry needle. Use photo as a guide.
Hold both pieces of the house together and sew together from the top of the window down to the bottom and around to the other window. The top portion will be crocheted together.
Use white yarn and attach to side of the house where you stopped sewing the pieces together. Ch 1, sc in next 2 sp, dc down into next sp to create “dripping icing”, repeat from * around until you get to the other side of the house where you stopped sewing the pieces together. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Attach white yarn for hanging.
