The crochet butterfly applique is one of the spring themed appliques as part of the Spring Blanket.

This pretty crochet butterfly applique can be used for any project, but I used it as part of the crochet Spring themed Blanket.
These butterflies are made up of three pieces – the body and two wings. They are very easy to crochet and quick to make!

Materials
Worsted weight yarn in black and color you want your butterfly to be
Hook: F/3.75mm hook
Tapestry needle and scissors
Notes
Beginning chain does not count as a stitch.
Pattern
Wings
Row 1: Ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across, turn (5)
Row 2: Ch 1, 2sc, sc in next 3 st, 2sc, turn (7)
Row 3: Ch 3, 2tr in next 2 st, sl st in next 2 st, ch 2, dc in same sp as last sl st, dc in remaining 3 st
Fasten off.
Make two wings for one butterfly.
Body with antennae
Use black.
Row 1: Ch 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 7 ch, ch 2.
Fasten off.
