This watermelon applique is part of my Summer Blanket which consists of granny squares and 8 different summer themed appliques.

Watermelon Crochet Pattern

 Materials

Pink, green, and black yarn
4.00mm hook
Tapestry needle and scissors

Abbreviations (US terms)
Ch = chain, hdc = half double crochet, dc = double crochet, st = stitch

Pattern

Start with pink yarn.

Row 1: Magic ring, ch 2, 5dc in ring, turn (5)

Row 2: Ch 1, 2dc in each st across, turn (10)

Row 3: Ch 2, *dc, 2dc in next st, repeat from * across, turn (15)

Row 4: Ch 1, *hdc in next 2 st, 2hdc in next st, repeat from * across, turn (20)

Change to green

Row 5: Ch 1, hdc across (20)

Fasten off.

Leave tail for sewing.

Use black yarn and tapestry needle to sew on watermelon seeds.
