Free Crochet Starfish Applique Pattern
Materials
Worsted weight yarn in bright pink and light pink
G/4.00 mm crochet hook
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Notes
Sc3tog: Insert hook into first st, YO, pull up a loop, insert hook into 2nd st, YO, pull up a loop, insert hook into 3rd st, YO, pull up a loop, YO, pull through all loops
Abbreviations (US terms):
Ch = chain, sc = single crochet, hdc = half double crochet, sc3tog = single crochet three together, st = stitch
Pattern
Start with bright pink color.
Round 1: Magic Ring, ch 1, 15 hdc into ring, join to first hdc
Do not fasten off. We will start to make the points of the star fish.
Row 1: *Ch 1, sc into the next 3 st, turn your work
Row 2-4: Repeat Row 1
Row 5: Ch 1, sc3tog over next 3 st, fasten off
Attach yarn to the left of the first point of the star fish you made and repeat from Row 1. Continue to do this until you have 5 points. Leave a long tail to sew onto granny square.
Use light pink yarn and tapestry needle to sew on the details using a running stitch.
