Free Crochet Seashell Applique Pattern

Materials

Worsted weight yarn in pink and white

G/4.00 mm crochet hook

Tapestry needle

Scissors

Notes

Abbreviations (US terms):

Ch = chain, sc = single crochet, sc2tog = single crochet two together, hdc = half double crochet, dc = double crochet, tr = treble crochet, st = stitch, sl st = slip stitch, sk = skip

Pattern

Row 1: Ch 6, sc into 2nd ch from hook and in each st across, turn (5)

Row 2: Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in next st, sc2tog, turn (3)

Row 3: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (3)

Row 4: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc in next st, 2 sc in last st, turn (5)

Row 5: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc into next 3 st, 2 sc in last st, turn (7)

Row 6: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc into next 5 st, 2 sc in last st, turn (9)

Row 7: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc into next 7 st, 2 sc in last st, turn (11)

Row 8: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc into next 9 st, 2 sc in last st, turn (13)

Row 9-10: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn (13)

Row 11: Ch 1, 2 sc in first st, sc into next 11 st, 2 sc in last st, turn (15)

Row 12: Ch 1, sc into next 3 st, hdc into next 3 st, dc into next 3 st, hdc into next 3 st, sc into last 3 st, turn (15)

Row 13: Ch 1, sk first st, 5 hdc into next st, sl st into next st, sk 1 st, 5 dc into next st, sl st in next st, sk 1 st, 5 tr into next st, sl st into next st, sk 1 st, 5 dc into next st, sl st into next st, sk 1 st, 5 hdc into next st, sl st into next st, fasten off.

Use white yarn and tapestry needle to sew on the details of the seashell.

    Will there be a shark? I'm a scuba diver and love rays and sharks. Loving your squares and hoping to start this in August or September.

    In your pattern there is a row 12, but not 13. Instead it says chain 13. I imagine this is supposed to be Row 13?

    I am so tickled to find your blog. I'm looking forward to do this ocean afghan as well as the woodland one. Thanks for your hard work.
