Skill Level
Many of these free crochet patterns also include video tutorials so if you are a beginner or enjoy following easy patterns, then these crochet snowman projects are perfect for you. If you know basic stitches (single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet) then you will have no problem following these patterns to make for the winter season.
The patterns are written with abbreviations for the crochet stitches, but there will be an abbreviation list in the notes section of each pattern for you to follow along.
Some of the patterns do involve sewing (mostly for the embellishments). If the pattern includes a video tutorial, you will have a visual on sewing these parts on.
Materials
A majority of these patterns are made with acrylic, worsted weight yarn. However, the snowman hat as well as the snowman amigurumi plushies are made with super bulky blanket yarn (you can also use chenille yarn).
When making the snowman plushie decor, you will also need stuffing and safety eyes. I typically use polyfil for the stuffing and safety eyes can be easily purchased on either Amazon or Etsy.
You will also need a crochet hook (hook size varies for each pattern), scissors, stitch marker, and a tapestry needle or yarn needle for weaving in ends and adding embellisments.
